OpenZone was founded in the year 2000 by two hunting enthusiasts who wanted to develop a flapping wing duck decoy with wireless remote. The decoy took about 2 years to develop and began selling at a major sporting goods store. As the flapping wing decoys became more popular, the company added the Landin' Duck and Flapp'n Goose to the flapping wing decoy line. Other products, the Glide'n Duck (wind driven), Explorer (decoy propeller) and regular floating decoys were also added to the decoy family. All these products are now selling at some of the major sporting goods stores, such as: Cabela's, Bass Pro Shops, Mack's Prairie Wings, etc.
All OpenZone products are produced in China and we have established good relationships with factories in various industries. We work closely with prototype shops, machine shops, injection mold tooling factories, blow mold tooling factories, ISO 9000 certified electronic companies, and last but not least, manufacturing factories. These connections allow us to develop and manufacture products at lower cost and on schedule.
We have started producing products for some of the companies since 2005. The picture shows some of the sporting goods we have helped in producing. Our goal is to use our connections and expertise in product development, serve as a bridge between American companies and the factories in China.
